Help needed - 2.0 watercooled engine problems

New to this but we have bought a 83 T25 with a recon engine and no history - but thinks its the beezneez
The Van took us to Scotland and through wales but as now developed a engine problem.
The van losses power up hills and feels lke its missing or only fireing on three, but it is a intermittent problem
Bought leads and plugs but cant say if they are the right parts for this engine and problems still there
Problem is that I dont know what the engine type is for the correct parts I need
Can anyone guve me any pointers to identifieing the engine so I get the right parts.
