After driving two stinkos back from Estonia me and the 3 kids set off on 4 weeks around baltics/scandinavia(story to follow also).

On the way back we stopped off at the Wolfsburg museum. Thought i would spend 5 mins in the small/pokey 'commercial' shed/building. 5 new T5.1s , nuffink else exciting!!!

Just about to go and notice a datk corner with the stairwell/lift in and a passageway. Walked around the corner and found the latest display they had just put on that week.

Very nice chap spoke for ages and he told me they have a dept that sources old vehicles for purchase/loan/display but they know very little about it. I guess the vents are extra filtration for hot/dry climates. They were purpose made for the T3 looking at the engineering. If you look at the rear racks you will see they go INTO the body. Interesting front grille (SA lookalikey but with spots sunk in on flanges into a cut standard grille but VERY pro done) etc etc .

That is one of the very first (if not the first)Syncros ever made and did a round the world trip with drivers from VW. If you got underneath you would have seen it was fitted with de coupler. It was at Syncro 25 as part of the display. I got chatting to the driver who let me poke about the rather unusual interior.
