JX to AAZ, AAZ sump removal.

Thanks to everyone who has helped. My AAZ sump would not come off when I had removed all the bolts. It was hanging loose but would not come off. I eventually worked out that the gasket/baffle plate was stuck to the sump & this was what was holding the sump on. I prised the gasket/baffle plate off the sump and the sump came off. Marvellous. I hope this helps someone else. Vandad.

I too found this to be the case and after much head scratching (can't be caught on anything in there can it? :? - no) and levering, I managed to remove it - seemed like it was glued on there with some uber sticky stuff!
Be warned not to scratch the mating face of the block, and particularly the softer metal alloy seals on either end of the crank! it's ok to trash the tray/baffle thing cos you don't need it for the jx sump, use a new rubber gasket then. :ok
