Can anyone tell me if there was a change in the starters for the year 80/81 for a 2.0l A/C,
GSF list two one upto 1/81, t'other 01/81 - 12/82. Earlier one same as for a bay, does it matter ??? are they interchangeable

I've had some starting problems with my van.The thing is the van is a
1980 (Sept.) 2.0l a/c, BUT - the engine is a 1988 CV 2.0l a/c VW
exchange engine. I've no idea if the starter motor was replaced in 1988 or at sometime later, if at all.
