What universal electric window kit would people recommend and how hard are they to fit?

I fitted this type of universal - ebay item no. 150479787548

They work fine albeit slow.

Cheers for the reply Titus. How slow are we talking here and what was it like to fit?

I've fitted that kit, it was fairly straight forward. I opted to cut a small section of door out to fit the motor nice and snug without moving the speaker in the door.I don't think they are that slow to be honest. I had a Nissan with rear electric windows as standard and they were the same speed as that kit. Got some pics somewhere if you want to see em.

As batmangb said they are slow but not that slow.
A doodle to fit.

Unit installed, you can see where a cut the metalwork and bent it back to get a better drive line (just in front of the motor).

Steve at Gasure sells the same kit and he told me he's fitted them to quite a few customer vehicles with no problems

Thanks for the pics on here Titus, as you said they are a doddle to fit, I've had to wire mine to work only with the ignition on so that the dogs don't stand on the switches and escape when we are shopping :lol:

Mine doesn't have switch on top but I can end up opening window with my knees lol

Alternative is these expensive babies: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-T3-T25-Tra ... 45fba1b3a8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Me too. Flintstones method wins every time for me :D

Mind you, no reason why winder motors from another vehicle couldn't be made to fit stock winder mechanism.

I fitted this set up to mine, but fitted the motors at the bottom where the factory ones go, very slight bulge in door card but most people wouldn't spot it, they aren't too slow, but I found that if you stripped the mechanism an replaced the cheapskate screws with some better ones with some washers as they were originally designed they work better, chinese have cheapened the original design and the screws are overtightened causing binding
