Gas Fridge Ignition

I know this is a very standard problem, but I'm tearing my hair out trying to get my fridge lit on gas! I've had it out of the van - cleaned the air lines, checked the ignition spark (Very strong), the air pump (good seal), etc. and still had no luck lighting the fridge on gas - it works a treat on hook up and to a certain extent on 12v.

I've tried blowing air through the brass pipe at the bottom of the fridge. You can smell gas when it's on too! Nearly blown the van up I reckon trying to get the thing lit! Also had the combustion chamber apart and cleaned it even though it was in great condition!

It's a 1985 Westy RM182 Electrolux fridge.

Any advice would be great - tried it on very level ground too!

On another note - does anyone know what the fourth light on the water level panel is (below the red LED that indicates low water)??

Ta!

That's the light that tells you the fridge is working! You have to hold down the button on the front of the fridge until that light comes on, then it should remain lit when you let go.

If you are holding down the push button for a while whilst igniting and it's still not working, then it could be a loose spark plug.... When they corrode they move out of the optimum position to light the gas.
Had this problem once myself, I would set it at the correct position but the bumps and vibrations would slowly move it out of position again.
They are only about £15 from Ashbridge domestic, google them.
