Steering Rack 'play' (not PAS)

Ay up,
I'm after more help/answers (sorry to be so demanding - 2 questions in 2 nights) Vanfest is coming up and I need to know what's going on the shopping list :D

I'm putting the front end back together after some extensive work and when I've re-assemble the tie-rods onto the steering rack I noticed that the near-side end of the rack is badly pitted and has lateral movement both up/down and front/back within its aluminium housing. Assuming this isn't normal? Can the racks be re-furbished (replace bushes etc) or is it not as simple as that? Let me guess... the latter?

thanks for reply, are you referring to the bushes which mount the rack to the vehicle? Or the bushes within the steering rack housing?

no inside the rack housing there is a support bush that stops the rack moving away from the pinion in effect. these can be changed.

Thanks for the link lee, I'll buzz em tomorrow. Out of curiosity, have you tackled this job yourself? If so, is it a barsteward?
