Fitting a 009 Distributor

I am fitting a 009 to my Type 4 CU motor (with twin 40 IDF's) - where do I connect the (green) condenser lead to? Also, I have changed the coil for a new Bosch Blue unit, which has + and - terminals instead of 1 and 15 - there is a black lead from the wiring loom, to which will this connect?

Im sure I have read on here that the 009 is not suited for the T25

Yes indeed.. the 009 is a very poor unit.. it doesnt have the right advance curve for the 2L type 4 engine.. the total advance is very low too so will suffer poor throttle responce..
You cannot use the stock amplifier and coil with it either it will burn out the points very quickly..
Check to see if you hav a vacuum tapping on one of the carbs for a vac advance of the std electronic dizzy.... (dont worry about the retard side not needed)
For a stock dizzy, set up for 5-7.5 deg BTDC no vac..
If you do use the 009......... then set timing to a max adance of around 32-34 deg BTDC above 3000 rpm.. that will prob give something like 12 or more deg at idle... expect poor throttle response at low rpm....
BUT you will need to get it checked out and set up on a rolling road.... listen out for any "pinking" (knock) and retard the timing a fraction...

I was told by the guy at The Engine Shop (who built the engine) to use a 009 and standard coil on this engine with the 40 IDF's, rather than the stock vacuum advance unit with electronic ignition, which would not be suitable...should I be confused yet?

surely electronic ignition is preferable to prehistoric points anyway.
I bet that is the one thing bay and bug owners like to do.. remove the points
was there a reason for junking the stock ignition?
