fresh water tank level guage

Just bought a 89 t3 westfalia. The fresh water tank guage always shows full (top green LED on 'kitchen unit). I have checked the sender in the tank which seems ok (slider not stuck) and the resistance changes when the slider is moved (to zero reading at the top). Any advice appreciated

Have a look at some of the threads in the Westfalia forum on Brick-Yard. I've had my share of sensor problems and there are plenty of knowledgable people there.

Have you checked the readings on the gauge with the sender disconnected and then with it connected?
If no difference, then the fault is either with the cable (direct short somewhere to make it read full) or with the gauge circuitry itself.

Cheers for the help. The threads led to fault with water in the sender. Components have survived but damp was causing partial short. It's now drying the sealant in the sunshine in the garden now the components are dry and working right. Cheers

Well done! Where did you get that sun in your garden, can you buy it at Tescos?
