Hi all,
after driving for about 100miles, my van would not let me put it into gear, it felt like all the gears had been locked off and was stuck in neutral. with the engine still running it eventuall let me put it in 2nd but with a clank, i couldnt change from 2nd to 3rd though.
it kind of feels like the clutch isnt allowing the gears to be selected, any ideas please, cheers

your clutch or slave cylinder has failed
they are available from GSF

how can you tell which one it is, as i wouldnt really want to go to the trouble of re-placing the clutch if it is the slave, or vise vera?
is there a easy way to tell or not, leaking fludid maybe? cheers,

Unless linkage has jammed in some way, whatever you do, gearbox will need to come out. Very likely clutch I have to say.

if it is the slave cylinder, would it be leaking fluid?
obviously slave sylinder is much cheaper than clutch!

it might..usual suspects are the seals in the cylinder.
quick test
get a friend to press the clutch pedal
does the slave piston move?
yes.. then your clutch is shagged
buy the kit from GSF as it includes the release bearing and pressure plate.. £80

euro carparts sell the sachs clutch kit which I prefer, similar sort of money
depends which is nearer to you or who you have an account with
and if you haven't done in living memory or know that it's been done give the gearbox an oil change while you're there
