JUST RETURNED FROM FRANCE - Aaaaargh!

Returned on Saturday on Norfolk Ferries from 3 weeks of fun, food, sunshine (except one hour of rain the previous Sunday) and total relaxation in France. Bliss. Arrived home and hate being back. However, I got back just in time to get to Loftus Road to see my team QPR win 2-0 (would have been 7-0 but for some amazing saves from Murphy). That cheered me up a bit, but it aint the same being back.
I miss the space, open roads, the quiet and the food. I am cheering myself up with a planned trip to Foxstock 2010 music festival next weekend. I am also definitely off to Bordeaux at Easter to visit French friends that we have got to know on holiday over the years. There, I am feeling better already.

Just been through the same pain barrier myself, first time I'd used it for camping since buying it, delivered everything we'd hoped for and more. Even the missus got carried away, spotting all the 'aire' signs in the towns & villages we passed through, couldn't help driving down to check them out for.
We booked onto a big campsite, pool etc for my two teenage girls, at the start of this year when we intended taking car and caravan (and 3 girls) as previous years. Then when the eldest daughter decided she wasn't gonna come, I persuaded the missus that we could have a camper this year and hey presto, a whole new world opened up. Bit tight getting the remaining 2 teenage girls in the roof beds for overnight stopovers but we managed without too much drama! Stuck em in a tent when on site.
Had one night in it since we got back to blighty, slept over after a friends garden party out in the sticks, parked up in a corner of a field, very handy.
Think positive Bud, just think of all those enjoyable hours youre gonna have fettling the van ready for the next trip, whenever it is.
Doesn't need to be france, the sun does shine here (occasionally). Just from the short experience we've had with our van since we got it, its great fun all round, home or away.
We're planning a long weekend in September next, either Cotswolds or up to Peak District.

I've been back a week after 2 weeks in Cornwall and Devon and am still feeling grumpy!
Really want to do a French trip next year tho.
BTW, El Sketchoo is around this way too so we should set up a mini meet sometime.
Cheers

Hi Patrick, thanks for that. looks interesting tho August bank holiday is already looming and too soon for me, have a few needed jobs on the van to do first and a list of nice to do's as long as your arm.
Went to vwwhitenoise yesterday, its onlt about 10 miles from here. First meeting Ive been to, good day all round, I could easily get a liking for it.
Have fun Bud

I know that Oxfordshire is your old stomping ground, but I am definitely returning to White Mark Farm (Watlington) in September, if anybody is interested in a mini meet (It costs £5.50 per adult for the first two adults then costs reduce). It is run by a friendly couple. There is a nearby well stocked Co-op shop open 7/7 and at least one good pub with food at sensible prices and a choice of good ales. The bonus is excellent walks and an abundance of red kites. Anybody interested?

Hi Patrick
What dates are you thinking?
My bro just moved to long term residential care near Stadhampton so I am up there any weekend that I am not elsewhere if you see what I mean!
I'd be up for a mini meet f'shaw.

I was thinking of either the weekend of 17-19 or 23-25 September, depending on the 5 day weather forecast (cos I prefer walking about in dry weather). If you or anybody else is interested, I will call the camp site to check availability.

I have checked they have three spaces for campers for 18/19 and four spaces for 24/25 ( I might go down there on the evening before). I have also asked el sketcho if they are interested. I will catch up with you early next week if not before and make a booking. Have a good one.

Sounds good to me - I would prob go Friday arvo and return Sunday arvo.
There's quite a few West London peeps I've noticed recently - is it worth putting it up in the club meets section?
I'll have Little T with me f'shaw and maybe 1 or 2 others depending!
