Hi to everyone.
As a new member of this forum, i thought it wise to say hello first.
I have a 1987 T25 its a 2.1 watercooled automatic.
It runs smoothly, and we have had lots of fun with it so far.
Until recently, when we went to bugjam 24, i managed to lose the only key we had, as expected our close neighbours at bugjam assisted us in getting the engine started in case we couldnt find the key. they managed to hotwire it (had lots of laughs doing this). but when they said that they would have to remove the ignition to get the steering lock off. i said lets wait until i went to the lost property to see if my key was handed in. Luckily it had. put it all back together, now the reversing lights dont work nor does the clock and the mileometer has stopped as well. has anyone got any ideas, also is this the right place to put this. lol
Many thanks
Brian d

Yes
The clock is on fuse 3 (counting left to right) along with the cigarette lighter, radio and courtesy lights so if these work it's not the fuse.
The reversing lights are on fuse 15 on their own.
List of fuse designations here

The speedo works off a cable and is not electric - all that fiddling about may have unclipped the attachment at the back of the clock.

Many thanks 1664,
Have checked the back of the clock. The connection had come off or loose, and is now working. The problem now is with the reversing lights, have checked fuse(thats ok), and new bulbs have been fitted, and still dont work, believe it could be the switch, but have no idea where it is. As to the speedo, couldnt see anything wrong when i took the panel off. not too worried about that at the moment, just want the reversing lights working.

The switch for the reversing lights on an Auto is at the base of the gear selector underneath the black shroud.

It may be a coincidence, but the speedo feeds from the front left wheel - it's a 5-6mm square metal piece that sticks through the grease cap in the middle of the wheel. It's held on by a tiny metal C-clip which comes off easily and the metal piece withdraws back into the grease cap so the speedo gets no feed. It's happened to mine twice in the last 18 months but is a really quick fix!
Of course, it could also be a connection on the back of the speedo in the cab too!
