Funny looking fuse thingys

Hi,
While looking for my onboard water tank level indicator in a 1980 westy joker, I came across some weird looking fuses housed behind a plastic cap in the top cupboard nearest the cooker under the table. They were screwed into a rubber housing and seemed to be filled with a white powder. Does anybody know what these are and what purpose they serve
I eventually found the water level indicator wires etc underneath said cupboard, and fixed that problem
