Coolant/Anti-freeze compatibility

I'm changing a heater pipe so I'll be changing the coolant too. Current coolant is blue so therefore G11. There seems to be conflicting information on whether G12+ purple mixes with G11 blue

I have read that G11 and G12+ don't mix :?: so I assume I should stick to G11 because even if I try to flush the system out with a hosepipe there will still be G11 in the heater matrix and radiator etc.

Am I right in this assumption or is it G12 that does not mix with G11??

you should not mix the two together.i read somewhere that vw say you should use compressed air through the expansion tank to remove the g11 before filling with g12.not sure how you would do this though.maybe vw have a special tank cap to do this.

G11 blue it is then.

Will be cheaper when I inevitably get half of it on the floor during my first ever system bleed
