Installing Rear Wheel Bearing and CV on T25
Posted: 09 Aug 2010, 12:39
Hi all, I am having a few problems with the rear of t25 and really need some help. here goes
There are a few sounds
- When starting to drive off sometimes there is a small knock (maybe CV)
- when turning left there is a rough scraping sound coming from left hand side (assume wheel bearing but seems to be coming from wrong side)
I have been under the car and pulled on everything the cv joint has a very slight 1-2mm max movement on the wheel end CV - is this too much? Could it be finished?
I have jacked the back up with no hand brake and noticed a slight play on both sides when going 12 - 6 hold but not massive, should there be any play at all?
If it is what i suspect - rear bearings on both sides and CV on passenger side rear how hard is it to change, well more the question how many problems am i likely to have
. I have the tools (46mm socket, breaker bar etc) but am going away Thursday and wonder if I should just get a garage to do it and if so any reco's for Manchester way?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!
Thanks heaps !!
Tim
