Greetings, new to the forum. I have recently bought a T25 which was in need of a bit of TLC and a clean up. I've replaced the old water tank pump and pipe (which was full of mould) but I am also wanting to clean out the water tank using some sterilising solution (bought from Just Kampers). To do this i have to drain the water tank, refill it, add steriliser stuff etc. However, the tank holds a fair amount of water and I can't figure out any way of draining it apart from using the electric tap via the pump. This will take an absolute age to do. Is there something I am missing here?

Depends on the conversion, but if you're lucky there will be a cap a the bottom of the tank to drain it from underneath the wan

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you mean a cap underneath the van, or put my hand into the tank and a cap at the bottom?

Underneath the van. Have a look and hopefully there's a drain point with a cap on it which you can unscrew from outside. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks, i'll take a look. I had a quick look but could only see the waste pipe.

If it's an Autohomes there is no drain underneath; you have to drain it via the tap

As for the van: I'll have a good look later, i'm at work at the moment and they don't pay me to diddle with my van (unfortunately).

I've installed a siphon tube with a bung in the end. It pokes into the bottom of the tank through the circular access plate, and most of it sits curled up under the back seat when not being used, and hangs out of the slider when it is being used. Now I can drain the tank anytime without working the pump to death. Useful for relieving the van of 50kg ish for the long journey home, and for not leaving water in the tank to go grotty between trips.

on my 50 litre tank, i have to get under and loosen the plumbing jubilee clip and pull the hose off the side of the tank and let it spill out that way.. bit of a pain but not hard to do. mines a Trakka conversion.
