Recently got an 88 Westy club joker high top. Over winter gonna spend time on bodywork and need to take roof off to do gutters etc...Has anyone put a new pop top where there used to be a factory high top and if so whats involved. Plus any pics. I realise pop top not original but for custom job I have in mind it would make van look perfect

if you plan on going from westy high top to westy pop top then you`re in for a lot of work. i would like to go the other way with my westy pop top.
the high top roof is cut open all the way to the front on the high tops so you would need to fit a roof cut to the front if you wanted to fit a westy pop top otherwise you would have water pouring in through the front roof rack.
you could fit a full length pop top much easier like the ones on the t4 but why would you want to get rid of the high top.
also the westy roof gutters are a bit differant to anything else once you grind out all the sealer you`ll need to peal back the metal bit that wraps over the roof flange.

Just on the offchance that it might be some good to you, I have my old Autohomes full length GRP skirt which could be a good basis to start building a poptop. Free to collector. PM me if interested.
