Eber fitting

Had a look on search but couldnt see answer.
Have sold the T4 and returning to the fold. Had a new diesel D2 eber fitted to it at xmas but am taking it out and keeping to fit in a T3. I would like to fit it underneath the rear seat. If i take out the factory rear heater(caravelle) any reasons why i could not fit it here on a syncro ?

thats where i would put it, but is it not posible to keep the rear heater as well? i know that i would try too,

Mines in the engine bay. But plumbed in in a custom simon way. See arrows for water circulation.

From there you can feed the output directly into the rear heater matrix, then down to the front heater matrix feed where you install this

Which will then circulate the hot water around the front matrix and engine. The other pipe on the above photo then goes directly back to the heater.

This works quite well, but will not warm up the interior as quick as if you just had the eber on a dedicated heater, but will pre heat your engine.

There are other type valves available so that you could just tap into the front and rear heaters without pre heating the engine. I really like having the front heater linked in as this gives a really good spread of heat that is very comfortable.

With the above set up the rear heater matrix wont work from the engine.

Dont know about model numbers , but my D2 is an airtronic.
Will get the tape measure out and have a shuftie at cross memebers/chassis rails etc to see if its possible to keep both.

If I understand you right, you have the standard engine fed matrix in the middle under the seat but want to put a blown air eber next to it to have both? If so, then they do fit nicely...

Shoddy picture I know!

It's a factory matrix with a B2L next to it (except it was in a box when I bought the van but it is there where the wires/holes are honest!), also a factory option I believe. I can get more pics of the underside etc if you need. All fits under the RnR bed with room for junk too.

from that pic i`d say there`s loads of room for both, got mine sucking air in from just under the rear arm rest and the air exits central of the seat.

dont know whether this helps but although you cant see the airtronic directly its under the charger and the air outlet runs to the centre of the seat.

looks like there`d be enough room for what you want to do elvis.

i know it's not an ebber but i have put a propex under a multi van r-n-r bed in my doka, even with the normal doka rear seat araingemet there is more than eneough space to mount both the blower matrix and a heater be it an ebber/propex.
