I have replacement clock faces ready to go in my '86 Joker LHD 1.6Td, does anyone know how to remove the speedo needle which would help no end?

It will pull off, but can be somewhat stubborn, so grit your teeth as you do it! firstly though, just lift it gently over the zero stop & note the position that it rests - it should be on one of the little marks on the face. when you replace it, it goes back in the same position. If your new face doesn't have any markings on it - put one in the same place. Just lift it back over the 'stop' when you're done & you should be ok.
NB: Do make sure your new face markings tally with the old ones.

hi bamba
you dont need to take needle off mate
the hole in the midle is big enough to pass the needle through
if you do take needle off to will need to gently lift needle over the stop pin and see where it settles and take note of its position
i used a dinner fork to ease mine off but be very careful the do break very easily

Thanks,

The only reason i want to remove the needle is cos i am a bit all fingers & thumbs & i thought it would be easier to line up the new faces on the clock if the needle was out of the way, but i will probably give it go with it in place as knowing me i will break it!
