Engine and gearbox swap

Have a 2ltr Aircooled with gearbox/linkage probs. Been off the road for a while as no enthusiasm.
So the question is:
My wife wants to get the camper sorted and on the road. She can only drive an auto!
So I have to put an autobox in and think while Im doing this I may aswell fit a more reliable/easier engine.
So what do people suggest????
And if you have an auto box for a t25 pm me
