Hi guys
I need a little help soon. Away for the weekend (Peak District) in 3 hrs and the fuel gauge is not working. The temp gauge is working though. I have checked the no43 fuse plug , seems ok. Have taken dash off no loose wires. Which wire is it in the dash?? If there is anyone in Kettering HELP!!!!

reset the trip meter and refill every 200miles. Worry about it when you get back. None of my beetle had fuel gauges, just keep an eye on your milage

tank holds 60l when full, average MPG 25, you will be safe for around 300 miles...... if in doubt refill after 200

enjoy your trip

have a look under the van andy see if any wires are broken around the fuel tank

either that or just fill it up and do dead reckoning

give yourself 23-25 mpg.. take note of the milage when full

have a good holiday

Sound advice guys- thanks- only one problem , the milometer ??? has never worked- I'll just keep it topped up and worry when i get home.

Is it best to look through the drivers side wheel arch for the top of the fuel tank.

its almost impossible to see the sender wires and if you do, youll not be able to tell anything , if you are leaving in two hours, dont even go there.

you have a map? check mileage on the map before you leave, you have 200 miles with a full tank , with a healthy reserve, derbyshire isnt that far, you'll be fine... dont let it spoil your trip......

and take a can of fuel with you.just in case..

Everytime you see a petrol station, fill up! Can't go wrong
