Just back from Holidays without van

Well the cost of my summer holidays spiralled a bit. As my gearbox imploded I had to resort to hotels. For the days I was mean't to camp it cost me about an additional £600. That said if anyone is forced to stay in a hotel around Newcastle I would recommend the Premier Inn at Washington. The staff were really good and were from the area rather than Eastern European (got nothing against them just would prefer to be looked after by someone that is native to the area). We came down after the finish time for breaky one morning (our fault) and they still sorted us out a cooked breakfast. Bent over backward to ensure we had a nice stay.
We booked a Yurt near York for 3 nights. The yurt was really quite cool. Decorated in shabby sheik and really comfortable with a pot belly stove in the middle. The amenities were a bit far away and not up to the same standard as the yurt but still fine.
Anyway back to work Monday and off to see Aidan dissect my gearbox on Tuesday night.
