I'm about to start the interior conversion of my panelvan. the hightop is fitted and also 2 side windows. My question is "when building a cupboard (in the rear of a hightop)from scratch, whats the best way for the base to be screwed to the tin top. Given the curvature of the roof, how do you support the base of the cupboard at each outside edge? Hope the question is clear enough.
Maybe this should be in the "modified" section.

Following the principals of the front one I did .. I siliconed 2 x 2 vertically onto the wall of the roof 1/2" forwards of where you want the partition. Make a profile from card measured at 1 cm intervals from the centerline across to the wall and draw round it onto 1/2" ply, cut a door to shape,cover partition in carpeting of choice, screw partition to 2x2s et voila.

I wouldn't advise using silicone sealant - use a PU adhesive/sealant like Soudaseal/Tigerseal/Sikaflex.

Thanks Ian, As I understand it, your instructions take care of the front face and door. I meant the inside of the cupboard ie the base to store duvets pillows etc. How is that levelled out -as in the gap between the tin top and the cupboard base? or do you use the tin top as the base?

Oldie but goodie- Thanks for that, I have some sikaflex left from the roof fitting so I can use that up now

I wouldnt bother with a base, just carpet the top of your tintop and then build the front fqace on the cuboard

Oh and by the way the best way of cutting the profile for the front of the cupboard is by using a Joggle stick and a Tally board. Just search on Google. Its a boat builders technique
