Getting bus ready for a re-spray. How easy is the removal/fitting of the windscreens. I've heard fitting using the string method is fairly easy, any one any experience of this?

Cheers

With 2 people and some good string, I use a good washing line about 4 - 5 mm thick.
Make sure that it's seated in the rubber well, start at the top in the middle.
Always pull toward the centre of the screen and have your oppo apply pressure from outside.
Some advocate the use of lube to make it easier, I don't I've never had the need.
If it slides in easily it might slide out just as easily.

My view is if you're not using original seal and fitting a new JK one, it will be a total pig and could easily cause stress on screen during fitting. Genuine (new or original) fit perfect and you can do the job on your own no prob.

You're spot on Covkid. I bought a new JK one and it did cause stess and windscreen broke putting it back in.

Yep, they sit proud even when fully seated and are just too 'fat' (for want of a better description) to fit the space. I paid more for a genuine VW one (with chrome insert) and it was so easy to fit, a child could have done it. The JK one needs serious massage with a rubber mallet and it doesn't look right.
