Hello,
I'm looking for any recommendations for a nice campsite around chichester way if anyones got any ideas. We're heading down the whole south coast first week of sept. got a gap of a couple of nights between hastings/kent way and the New forest...anywhere a bit interesting, ideally without elderly caravanners sweeping the turf outside the caravan with a broom (I have seen this...). Any ideas?
Thanks
Dan

Stubcroft Farm at East wittering is worth a try. Nice little farm site about 15 mins walk from Bracklesham bay.

nunnington farm may not fit the no oldies bill but the far corner of the camping field is a prime spot ,and the incredible west witt beach is only a 5 minute cycle ride or take the bus in 2 minutes depending on the traffic ps this camp-site allows you to stay until 15.00 on the day of departure

+1 for nunnington farm, used a few times - although it can get booked up very quickly. If it's full go round the corner to Scotts at East Wittering, only a little bit further to get to the nice beach at West Wittering - East Wittering is pebbley.

Nunnington is closer to the very lovely West Wittering beach ( 10 min walk). Its a nice clean site with hot showers. I have been a few times and it seems the site goes quiet around 10.30 which gives me the impression that I may p**s someone off if I wanted to 'make a bit of noise. It is a nice site though for a relaxing weekend away.

If you wanted to stay up and have a few beers then Scotts Farm in Wittering is OK. it seems more tolerant of people staying outside their tents/vans and kids running around. Toilets and Showers are not bad.

Scotts farm is a few pounds more than Nunnington per night. I generally stay a night or 2 then drive the van to West Wittering, go for swim them cook breakfast in the van - Lovely!

If you are planning on going to West Wittering for a swim - get a tide chart and check when High water is as the tide recedes a long way a low water.

Nunnington Farm gets a thumbs up - spent Sunday night there as it was one of the only places not requiring a minimum of 2 nights camping 'because its high season' - clean, well kept and more signs telling you what you couldn't do rather than what you could. BUT very close to a great beach and reasonably priced. Pretty much had the beach to our selves on sunday night - fabulous sunset. :ok

we were going to stay @ a camping and caravan site but when they said we had to book for a minimum of 2 nights then the deal was off. Me and Mrs I.J are members but we'll stop that and change over to the Forest Experience card to get discount on the Forestry Commission sites - back to basics but they rank head and shoulders over everything else in terms of surroundings and atmosphere.
