Dear all,

Just taken my newly aquired T25 away for the weekend (good times) but before I went away I tried to plug the van into the mains to cool the fridge and charge the battery, however, it didn't seem to work (bad times). I also managed to flatten my engine battery because I ran the fridge from the battery while on site, because I mistakenly thought it ran from the leisure battery (I'm on a learning curve!). Also there is a normal style 12v plug socket in the van which I cannot get to work. All in all I think this is all down to may poor opperation of the Zig unit and a general lack of understanding of how it should work(switches in wrong on/off combination for charging). I have followed the trouble shooting questions in the manual but couldn't get the battery to charge from the main and wondered if anyone could explain (in simple terms) where I am going wrong and what I should do.

Sorry if this is a really simple (or idiotic) question but I am pretty new to this.

hi, welcome to the forums....
after reading your post above two points rang alarm bells for me........

1. it should NOT be possible to flattern your main vehicle battery by running the fridge whilst the engine is not running.
the fridge should not be able to receive power from the battery without the alternator charging.

2.fridges should never be connected to the leisure battery anyway.

please take a look in the Wiki section for correct wiring of fridge and leisure battery

also take a look in the downloads section under club stuff for zig instructions.
