Can anyone tell me if I can put an AAZ 1.9td straight into my 1.6d westy? I have been told its a pretty straight forward job for a good mech. I have got the engine, manifold and all wiring. Is there anything I need to know before he starts... Thanks

hi,
have a look around on here and other sites like the brickyard,
below is a link (or at least it should be)
very useful, and there are some parts described in the guide that are made by brickwerks because this conversion is so common now
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... ds/aaz.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its definietly not plug and play, would be easier if you had a 1.6td.
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... ds/aaz.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
would be easier to go the 1.9 1y route.
Is it just more power your after or a problem?
Rob.

Hi Rob,
When I bought the van it had a 1.9 aaz in it but for some reason it didnt have the turbo on it. I got another engine thinking I could (well not me!) bolt the turbo etc on.
It is more power Im after as its flat as a fart at the mo!
Can you suggest an alternative?
Thanks Tommy

I fit it had an AAZ then it should be plug and play, Just go throught the Brickwerks list and if you have it all then your away.
