What tools and spares should I keep in my T25

Hello All

I have a 1.6 TD JX 1990 Westy. I've just been on a long holiday (900 miles) with no problems, but I can't help feeling like I'm a bit un-prepaired for the possibility of a brakedown. I'm posting this thread here because I really could use some advice from those more seasoned T25 owners. I want to draw up a list of tools and spares that I should always keep packed in my van on long journeys. Here is my first stab at the list. Can you please add anything that you would reccomend keeping in mind I have a 1.6TD.

Tools:
-Screwdrivers
-Socket Set
-Pliers
-Wire cutters
-Hammer
-Electrical Tape
-Duct Tape

Spares:
-Bulbs
-Fan Belts

Please Help me add to my list.

Thanks

Llamapup

Thanks

Fair comment... I've got one of those, but that's what I'm trying to avoid. I want to make sure that wherever I go I will be able to fix most common problems that will stop me from driving home. I've I can't fix it myself, I would at least like to have some spares with me to help someone else get me going again.

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about. I've just replaced my starter motor so hopefully I should be alright with them for a bit. I'll add it to the list though.

What's an expansion cap. Is that for petrol water cooled engines. I'll add that to the list too.

Tools:
-Screwdrivers
-Socket Set
-Pliers
-Wire cutters
-Hammer
-Electrical Tape
-Duct Tape
-Tyre Jack

Spares:
-Bulbs
-Fuses
-Fan Belts
-Starter Motor and Solenoid
-Expansion Cap

Would you bring any spare water hoses with you? There are loads of them.

Thats not a long drive. We did 3500 miles last summer in 2 weeks. Down to Venice via Innsbuck, back home via Saltzburg, Munich, prague and Leipzig. No probs at all!

That' a long drive and sounds like a great trip. I had some really bad luck with being stranded with my young children both under 2 yrs, so I really want to cover all my bases. You say that you had no problems, but would you reccomend bringing any more tools or spares with you?

Thanks

some strong wire and a selection of hose clips (and a piece of string or washing line in case your accelerator cable snaps ...so you can drive it by hand  )
