I have a Reimo conversion that has a three-way gas set up for the fridge, hob and Propex. It all runs off camping gaz bottles at the moment, but I'd like to free up the cupboard space and fit a gas tank that I can fill up at the autogas pump. Would a Westie underslung tank be the right bit of kit for this? The van is an 86 panel van if that holds any bearing.

Yes or a cheaper option might be Wynen Gas (German company) or Gaslow - but you don't gain the space. But something to bear in mind is that I am pretty sure installing an underslung tank requires taking out the whole kitchen with all the fittings, and the floor, to securely bolt in the tank. Headley18 fitted my lpg tank on my old van, great job he did too, Gasure do the supply & fit for £400.

thanks both, always best to be sure before opening the wallet!

Kitchen out is no biggie as that part of the interior is 18 months old (theft repair). Will slot in and out like a glove. To the wanted pages!

Good luck, they are much sought after and unless you strike lucky they fetch good money.

I know, but a worthy investment in the long run. It's non essential so plenty of time to wait for the opportune moment! One went on here for £40 the other week, but it was too far away for me to collect and not enough time to arrange express before someone else snapped it up! Potentially poping down to Spannerboy in a couple of weeks, so I'll see what he's got in.

Yep, I saw it at The Bus Stopover

I was even tempted into swapping our diesel Eber for a Propex just to make the most of our Westy tank ..... I 'changed my mind' though after 'guidance' from The Present Mrs Hulley (God Bless Her !)

just thought, my van is RHD. The water tank is currently on the nearside so can't move that without hassles, and surely all the nozzles are on the wrong side to put the gas tank on the offside?
