Hi there can someone run through how i change my fuel filter on a 1.7 diesel i.e. how i bleed the system after i put the new one on? or do i pre fill it with diesel? sorry to be so dumb but i have been very lucky so far during ownership and live in perpetual fear of something going wrong. Cheers Steve.......

we all live in fear of something going wrong but you get used to it after the 5th or 6th recovery

yeah..you got it...put the new filter in with diesel in it and just keep it turning over till it fires up.i did it with an empty filter and it took a min to get going ....but your better off with the filter filled up first. :ok

Did mine last year Steve ..pretty straight forward, I got my filter from Brickwerks. Take the time to check your fuel hoses whilst you're at it. :ok

As a side note* don't be tempted to use the fuel out the old filter.....you could well be pouring dirt and water in to the new filter.
Fill it to the brim so your starter doesn't need to crank for a long period to prime the filter & lines.
