Just got a 12v gas alarm from the 'bay o fleas' for detecting propane/butane, I just need to know the best place to fit it. Im going to power it directly from the LB with an in line switch to knock it off when Im not using the camper.

Thanks, Mark

Both are heavier than air.

Cheers Ian, I'll mount near the floor then. Im thinking in the open living area rather than a cupboard as I do have drop outs under the fridge and and in the gas locker and a propex going under the RnR bed when I get round to fitting it ( only had 8 mths  ) should I put a drop out hole behind the propex??? or this a bit belt and braces?

If you want it to sound before the gas reaches the lit gas of the fridge - below the level of the burner. If not leave it in the shed/workshop. Sounds like you are well catered for with drop-outs.

Thanks Oldie
I'll put it near the floor below burner height then, I may as well install since I have it, besides I have no gas appliances in me shed

Thanks again folks

Gas is not so much of a problem you can smell it, Carbon Monoxide (CO) is more of a killer, lighter than air and odourless you would be better off with a detector for that.
