1.6ct Aircooled timing (beetle heads)

Rightio it seems I have ressolved the issue of the kinglead shorting out on the coil, but now I have an issue with timing.

When under load it seems to be pinking or sounds like it.

So should hte timing be set as per a CT or should it be set as per a 1600 Beetle? It has beetle pistons, barrels and heads fitted?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Andrew

Depends what distributor you have fitted.

Then it would be the same at 5 deg after TDC unless you have altered the compression ratio.

ahhhh RE: your other post Andy!....

did you put the spacers on the the barrels to head and at the base of the barrels also? as said if it's over compressing then that would cause pinking
