Radio Connections

Hi,

Please forgive this stupid question, but....

I have taken the radio out of my old car, which had the plastic block connectors. I want to install this in my T25. My T25 doesnt have the plastic block connectors. Instead it has a permanent live, no ignition live. So I have wired the live wires from the radio to this. It also has a brown wire. Is this the earth? The earth from my stereo I believe is black, do I connect this to the T25's brown wire?

Running behind the dash is also a couple of yellow/green wires. I would assume this was the earth for the DVD system that the previous owner had. Should I use that as the earth instead of the brown wire?

I am stumpped, any ideas?

Thanks

Andy

if in doubt.and you know the earth on your stereo then just run a wire from it to earth.having said that put a continuity tester between what you think is a earth in the van(usually brown) to an earthing point.whilst your at it why not connect your stereo to your leisure battery.assuming you have one.

Thanks, sorted it, connected the stereo earth to the T25 brown wire.

I have a double cab T25 so no leisure battery. I am going to wire one in soon, as will need it for 12v power in my tent when I am next camping.

When I do wire the Radio to the Leisure Battery, what fuse rating should I use?

Thanks

Andy

whatever the manufacturer recommends.
