I'm currently away and I've managed to flatten my 100Ah leisure battery. How much driving would typically be required to fully recharge it?

I reckon a couple of hours should see it well and truly charged but I await correction from squigly-merchants

I've mentioned this before, but the charger often sold by LIDL at varying times throughout the year is great for charging leisure batteries. Its an intelligent charger (Its equivalent in other stores around the £50 mark) but a mere £12 from LIDL, likewise their fixed tow bar which Chickenkoop and I never travel without now (also £12). Although a leisure battery can indeed be charged from a conventional charger and sometimes needs a spell on one initially to get some charge into it, the intelligent chargers are better for the battery. My stepfather has a large caravan and also has one to top up his leisure battery as it'll do pulse-charging etc.

Agreed, maybe Ive read his post wrong? thought hes out and about and needs to charge it up now so to speak

Will need one heck of a long extension lead.

I've got a lidl charger at home in Malvern, but I'm with the battery at Lands End!
The local Lidl aren't currently stocking them - I checked yesterday

If you had a 90A alternator giving all its charge to the leisure then a hour or so but in reality I expect a couple of hours cruising would sort it out. I do know that Syncrosimon has had over 100A out of his 90A alternator when doing a big charge...

It doesn't mater what the alternator can push out it is what the battery can except is more to the point, a battery can except a high charge for only a short time and then the charge rate falls off, more so with a true leisure battery. As lloyd says about 5 hours to bulk charge the battery but more like 8 hours to fully charge. Make sure it hasn't blown the split charging fuse or thats a lot of fuel to waste.
