Hello all, bit confused!
I am getting a hot wheel. I was sure it was a sticking brake, but took it apart and its fine.
So my next issue is the front Hub. Are they filled with grease or oil and how do you fill them?

I got this on an old ford explorer - repacked the barings and it was fine, very strange

You dont as they are sealed for life. You gotta replace them and you need at least a 5 ton press and the necessary drifts to do that job. Take the upright off and go to your nearest engineering shop with a new bearing and TWO seals and get them to press out the old one and press in the new one. I have just done that job and if you dont have a press then forget it. The Baxter chap has the bearings and seals.

Rogue, is your problem with a syncro or a 2wd?
The front hubs are very different and require a completely different approach and tools.
I did my 2wd front hub bearings with the luxury of a gear press at work, but you can make do with a punch, hammer, bench vice and a calm attitude! 2 hours a side if the caliper bolts aren't siezed...follow your Haynes manual or Bentley to the letter and you won't go wrong.
Buy a quality bearing kit like a FAG one, which will come with a pouch of grease (not enough IMHO)

Do a topic search and you'll turn up a free download pdf that includes the syncro procedures (that are usually missing) or else search my posts as I chimed in on that one.

You dont need a Bently for this. Its very straight forward

From memory....
Loosen driveshaft nut while van is still on the ground
Wheel off
Undo caliper bolts and remove caliper and hang out of the way. Dont undo the hose
Remove disc
Remove dust shield
Undo bottom ball joint nut
Disconnect tie rod
Undo 2 Allen screws on top ball joint and move top arm up out of the way
Upright should be only held on the bottom ball joint taper now
Wallop the bottom arm where the ball joint is on each side and the taper will break free

While you are in there you should do both sides. Bearings, dust shields, brake pads, discs, hoses, ball joints and track rod end should all be looked at
