Gas storage / locker

Hi,

Just about to tackle the gas part of my home conversion ready for the summer.

Just wondering what the consensus is on gas bottle storage. I got a plastic gas bottle container from a show at the weekend, but unfortunately my bottle doesn't fit in it, I've currently got a 4.5 butane calor cylinder and I think the container is made for a camping gaz 907 cylinder. So I'm wondering just how important is it to have a gas locker type container? Are they meant to stop fire hazzard, or jut gas leaking into the interior? Should I swap over to Camping gaz and use the plastic container or try to source another locker for the calor cylinder?

Cheers,

Ben

you must have a "drop" hole vent in the floor for any leakage to exit ( Gas is heavier than air ) but i dont think ( and i maybe wrong) that you dont need a sealed locker if its a home conversion. I have recently co-converted a minibus and we didnt bother with the sealed locker, just the drop vents.

if you are rich use the 907's they are almost twice as expensive per litre of gas as the 4.5 calor bottles.
