Whilst speeding home the other night !!! there was a very loud banging sound from the front, sort of where the heater is. I slowed down to stop and the banging stopped. Its not happened again YET!!! Any ideas what it could be please? Thanks x

Look under the front and there is a bolt head right in the middle by a release loop - tighten up with the wheel nut brace. (the bolt secures the spare wheel carrier and the loop is attached to a catch that stops it dropping down before you are ready when you undo the bolt)
I am not saying that that is the cause of your noise but just a suggestion as to what it may be.

Do you feel the banging through the steering wheel ? the gearlever ? or through the seat ? Sound's daft but I'm sure you know what I mean

I looked underneath and the spare wheel seems tight.
The sound seemed to be coming through the dash, drivers side!!

Are the radius rod bushes worn ? What's the anti-roll bar link rod like ?
Ian.

Can someone translate the above post please?
I might be old but surely the English language is used to communicate and this just doesn't communicate anything to me. I can see English words amongst the gibberish but there are no coherent sentences.

Cherryboo,
If you fill in your location there may be a knowledgeable man or woman nearby who could take a look for you.

Check all linkages & bushes on front suspension, I had a drop link shear recently and it doesn't half make a noise.
Basically, get under the front end and give everything a good shake, if anything wobbles it probably shouldn't. Might just be a case of replacing an old worn rubber bush or something may have broken (or probably will when you undo it to replace the bush

)
When you've found the culprit have a look at Brickwerks for the replacement parts.
One slightly annoying noise on mine I've pinned down to a broken grille fixing, so the grille rattles against the front panel in crosswinds. It might not be all doom and gloom, good luck and I hope it's not too expensive a fix
