Does anybody know if the 1600d N/A head is the same as a 1600td head. Is the casting the same, is it the same cam etc ?

Ive got a td with a useless head and ive found a 1600 non turbo engine that I can strip but I dont want to waste my time if its not compatable.So I thought i would ask the experts

By no means an expert, but to my knowlwdge they are not the same. The cam is different and as far as I know the head gaskets are also different due to different cooling channels.

Don't know if one can be tweaked to become the other ...that's where you need to ask an expert proper

I asked this question recently.....

The head gaskets are the same, as Brickwerks list the same gasket for the 1.6 N/A and the 1.6 TD.

The manifolds are different though.
Thats the feed back I got.

Have you guys considered a swap?
