I had a simple job thats turned into a nightmare and i need help as i'm off to france friday :( :(

I have a JX engine, all was well with it until i knocked the timing out... Don't ask how i'm to ashamed to say

So i have to time it up again, i've found the nitch in the flywheel, i even lined up the diesel pump (mark in the pulley to the mark on the pump?)put the belt on and very little happens... it turns over, after a few turns it starts with a rev then dies.... What have i done?

Please, please please can someone point me in the right direction, i've been on it all day and i'm at my witsend.... :( :(

Have you timed the cam up to?

I should say the timing is still out could it be possible you are 180 degrees out?

That makes sense, and the answer to that is a big fat no i didn't!

so would i turn the crank 360 degrees to bring that back in time?

yes mate you would but make sure that the cam shaft locking device is in i use a piece of flat bar as not to lose that timing, i use a drill bit in the pump to lock that in place then get the crank shaft in time by using the little cut out in the clutch plate.

if you use that as a rough guide and make sure you fit the belt tightly over all should be go
