Does anyone know correct part no for ignition coil?

I've got a 1982 2.0 Aircooled Devon Camper.
Recently changed the 009 Distributor back to the correct electronic 007.
Thought I also needed to change the plugs and ignition coil. Did so and the coil I got was from Just Kampers - one of the blue one's .
Van has been running worse and worse - poor starting and backfiring plus hesitation when accelerating although ticked over OK once going and ran Okish on the motorway.
I thought I'd try the old coil today and it cured the problems even though its probably the wrong one as it was part of the 009 set up.
Question is - what is the correct coil part number - been through search facility but just can't find it. Is the JK coil the right model an did I just get a duff one. And why does the old coil work? Will this harm the electronics if I keep using it.
Any answers much appreciated

if the resistance of the coil meets the specs for the electronic system then it ought to work.. But I doubt they do...
Original coil fits all air cooleds and early DF/DG/DH and GW - 211 905 115 B but no longer available from VW
Later coil listed (cant see what it wont work just as well to be honest..) is 211 905 115 D and listed about £52 + vat from VW if still available..
Should be able to cross ref those numbers to an aftermarket supplier...

Thanks fella
Just checked the coil JK sold me is listed as the correct one on its website but the box says its a Bosch 9 224 771 008S - so clearly the wrong one!

not many folks realise but there was in fact a points option with the aircooleds (listed in the manual) and deffo 2 different coils. it wasn't a crappy 009 dizzy tho which are absolutely wrong for aircooleds

many folk fit the 009 and leave the electronic coil on so you probably ended up with the right set up

Thanks - That would be a result and may explain why it runs OK now. I'll see what the part no of the "original" coil is and put it up for the record.

the "points" ignition was early 1.6 Aircooled and the early low power 1.9 wbx, but seems was an "option" as fancy electronic ignition wasnt popular then witht he "traditionalists"...
2L aircooleds and all DG 1.9's had electronic.. as did everything after 84... (points wasnt an option then)
Points vans are pretty rare as such..
If it has no vac advance unit, its an 009 and WRONG........

I've now checked what the "original" coil part no is.
It's stamped as a Bosch 0 221 119 027
This apparently had the VW part no 043 905 115C
Still none the wiser as to whether this is OK to use with electronic ignition set up

ok your 115 C coil is for conventional ignition upto chassis E155000 engine types CV, CT, DF and EY
yours is a CU and has electronic ignition and should have 211 905 115 B

OK Thanks Aidan
I'm absolutely clear now that the correct coil is:
VAG 211 905 115B ( Bosch 0 221 122 023)
Incidentally I spoke to JK about the coil they sent me (Made in Mexico- Bosch 9 224 771 008S). As I said in my first post this doesn't work - van backfires like crazy. On closer inspection it has "ENCENDIDO CONVENCIONAL" written on the sticky label attached to the coil.
I'm no expert in Spanish but I'm pretty sure that means Conventional Ignition!!

However, to be fair to JK , VW Heritage sells exactly the same one and they both say they haven't had any problems.
