Hi all, i dont often do 65mph except when going down hill! Whenever the van reaches this speed the red battery light comes on on the console that contains the speedo etc. Just wondering if anyone had any info on this and whether its actually damaging?

plainly something isnt right.. and needs checking.. does it do it at same rpm in lower gears (as speed has nowt to do with it) engine rpm does....
Check the voltages at idle and reved up, could be that the alternator is packing up, or might just be the brush pack and regulator thats at fault..

It only ever does it at around 65mph, so couldn't really check lower gears as i couldnt do 65 in third or lower. I know what your saying about RPM i already suspected that the speed wasn't the issue. To be honest i'm not massively fussed by it as it only happens at the top speed and i generally cruise at 60mph, when im at 60mph it has never happened. Might get my mechanic to have a look when its next in. Will try changing brushes also, cheers!
P.S. Does anyone think this is actually serious?
