Yeah back on the road again!!!

Clutch working but am having trouble engaging 1st gear it's a little sticky.

Had a look in the wiki but can't find anything specific to 1st gear problems, is this something I can adjust
or is it likely to be wear related, it was not to bad before the clutch was replaced, obviously I have disturbed everything during change.

Does it make any difference with the engine turned off? if the answer is yes then this points to partial clutch engagement (clutch not fully disengaging ie:
Air in the system
Worn clutch
Rusty input splines
Worn release mechanism
Worn spigot shaft bearing

If it makes no difference when turned off:
Gear selector rod alignment incorrect, dry, worn etc

Hi

I have a new clutch and pressure plate and had the flywheel skimmed as it was grooved, also changed spigot bearing.
I have a new clutch slave cylinder too, as well as 2 new pipes (the metal one from the slave and the flexi one it goes into.

The clutch has been bled twice.

Could it still be air in system??? I think it helps to rev it a bit before pushing into 1st.

mines a bit like that when cold but gets much better when it warms up,, my LT is the same

Aha, I've had to have 2 new clutches in my old shed in the last 5 yrs ( and no, I wasn't driving it then) and both times the linkages needed adjusting. The odd thing was that the two garages who fitted the clutches `signed` the job off as `done`did not do a road test to ensure the gear selection was satisfactory. In other words a pi$$-poor service, in my view.

So, my recommodation would be, in the first instance, to have the linkages adjusted.

How easy is it to adjust the gear linkage yourself or would you recommend a garage to do it?
