Hi,

Just purchased a 1989 T25 in great condition, but looking to renew some sealant just to be on the safe side. Sikaflex appears to be highly recommended, but which product in particular?

I'm looking at Sikaflex®-521UV (Sikaflex®-521UV is a multi-purpose UV resistant, high strength silane terminated polymer sealant. It is suitable for producing permanent elastic seals between a wide variety of materials, including wood, aluminum, metal primers and paint coatings, ceramic materials and plastics.) http://www.sikaindustry.com/pds-ipd-Sik ... 1uv-us.pdf

Is this the correct option?

Thanks

Thats OK, had the same on my Autosleeper, sealants have come on since 1989. the old stuff seams to harden like putty, scrape what you can out then reseal leaving a smooth finish and remember to mastic the front seal above the windscreen.

Good luck steve

Can you remember how many tubes you needed?

Or Soudal products, or Tigerseal - cheaper than Sikaflex.
If you are talking about sealing the hi-top as opposed to the gutter itself:
Number of tubes depends on how close a fit the top is to the roof and how generous you are applying it. I used 2 tubes doing the front half of mine from the inside - with very generous application.

Just the gutter itself - the existing sealant is cracked/crazed and I'd like to remove it, apply Vactan and then apply Sikaflex or similar
