Emma I bought some from fleabay (not marketed as super strong) but they'll hold the tailgate up with a bmx on it - the problem I have is shutting it when the bike's not on it!

I bought a pair of non heavy duty ones and they worked fine for about a year or two but now it depends on the weather funny enough. :?
must be something to do with the heat and viscocity of the oil inside.

I've got an old walking pole that i use as a prop.

Theres a handy little shelf at the top on the back of the westy that I keep my poles in so they are always to hand.

one of these days ill get round to replacing the struts :-)
