Engine replacement time.

The time has come. We've checked out all there is to check out as far as replacing the engine in our van. We've had a few quotes for a full job, from being picked up(from Anglesey), fitted and guaranteed for twelve months. Most of the quotes we got are from members or links on here. However, we'd like to ask if anyone has any advice and questions we should be asking before we make the leap and fork out 12months savings.
cheers ears

FFS just been informed that we can put a peugeot in if we want. Months of research and not one mention of peugeot. "oh yeah the last two engines i've sold have gone into VW campers". Cheers Mr engine man I'll just ask a few people that know and get back to you ok. "yeah ok but don't forget to mention the bell housing needs a slight conversion but the kit is anvailable". I give up.

There's enough VW 1.9N/A diesels around (which are cheap and fit in like a dream) without arsing around with a Peu-geot lump. IMHO that is.

if your going the 1y route then make sure you tell the mechanic it will need a spigot bearing
you can do this yourself if your fairly confident..there will always be someone on here to advise you.if you do decide to try it then look for a car with that engine in so you can hear it running.then....spend your savings on going out in the thing
