noise from shaft /bearing /gearbox

Hi all have had a strange noise coming from rear left hand wheel was a rumble and squeaking checked wheel bearing which had a little play so i replaced it put it all back togather and still the same took gear box end of shaft of ran the engine in gear and rfom what i could hear no noise put it back together and niose came back the squeaking is from wheel end of shaft i think or cold it be the gear box or drive shaft it a five speed and read on hear there not the best im now at a loss on what to do any help or andvice please

Now then fella,hows you doing,still laughing from your visit, even the bliddy butcher asks.........

Now this here noise, I take it it only makes it when said bus is in motion?
Is this only forward motion or reverse as well? ha bet you never checked that did you.
Have you had it jacked up on one side at a time and run it.
give me a ring in the next 1/2hr else tommorow

Did you ever find and resolve the problem becos im having the same trouble and its driving me nuts..............

Yep it was a cv joint, even though he checked them it was only when removed and rotated that it showed

Thanks for feedback Mike, experiencing same problem after checking all wheel bearings, so cv joints next.

It was the outer (wheel end) by the way, as this is the harder to remove/grease/service, best to stick a new one in each outer for what they cost. most of the effort is in the removal
