Hello - Does anyone know a auto electrician in the Bristol area?
I live in Cheddar.
We have just bought a 1986 Devon Eurovette - The Fridge, Propex heater and Zig unit all need looking at.
Thanks John.

Hello Kev, thanks for your reply.
Firstly, we have just bought the van and are newbies with very little knowledge about these .
The Propex -
It fires up then shuts down again. We have felt heat out of the vents , but it's only ran for about 15 secs (30 max) then it just cuts out. The thermostat seems to work as i can re-ignite the propex again by twisting this on and off. If i re-ignite it several times in a row i get a 'back fire' from the heater, so i guess it is getting gas.
The Fridge -
I just discovered a blown fuse on the wire coming off the main battery, as soon as i replaced this fuse the ignition on the fridge started to spark. This is where i'm up to on the fridge .
It is a 3 way, i have not hooked the van up to mains yet as we still have to get a cable. I've tried to switch the fridge to battery (With a leisure battery hooked up) but no joy. The water pump, thermostat and lights all seem to work off this battery.
Any help on this would be much appreciated as we are newbies.
Cheers John.

OK well the propex sounds like a battery problem...below 11.5V it'll switch off.
the fridge is trying to ignite the gas it's an auto spark I'm presuming it's an Electrolux.
If so then with the rocker switch on the right set to "0" (middle)..push in the Knob on the left hand side and turn it to "3" or "2" untill the ticking stops
that means its lit ..release the knob after about 20 seconds, set to "3" will freeze milk or beer overnight
If not tell us what model it is
The fridge (any) won't work on battery unless the engine is running

Thanks Kev.
Tonight i will check it out and give the battery a full charge to see if the Propex will fire up.
Cheers John.

Remember charge the leisusure battery as the propex runs off this.
