Do you have to take the petrol tank out to weld a sill?

HI all,

I need to weld a new drivers side outer sill on my van. Does the pertol tank need to come out to do this?

Nope but have a fire extinguisher to hand as theres loads of under seal about!!

Yer I know about the underseal, I have been scraping it off all day to get a good look at the mess the sill is in
