Hi, I have a 1.9 DG (I think it's a DG, it's the 78bhp model) I wasjust wondering what the valve clearence was.

Cheers

Gets asked a lot. Half a turn in is the 80/90 consensus.

unless its been rebiult with "solid" tappets, then there isnt a "clearance" hydro tappets require a small amount of preload, this should be 1/2 to 1 turn in from just touching..

BUT.. if its quiet and no issues, leave well alone.. do an oil and filter change using normal mineral 15w40 oil.... :ok :ok

There is no valve clearance, they are hydraulic and don't want nor need sticky fingers unless you want to make it worse.
There are some, turd rebuilds by "Volkspares" which use solid lifters, these need setting as per type 1. As they never meant to have a valve clearance then there is no gap to set other than a bit of trial and error.
If you have a said dog turn volkspares rebuild then I may suggest .15mm inlet, .25mm exhaust.
