Advice please

I have to replace the window scraper/trim on my drivers door(looks like a J on its side) can anyone who has done this give me a hint on how to remove the old one without damaging the paintwork?

just get some pliers on it and pull or hook a screwdriver underneath, its not a tight fit.

Dave, it just pulls out, but do it gently, there are 4 little metal clips that fix onto the inside of the door just at the bottom of the window, if these clips are rusted out they may break, they may just stay there though!
If they do stay there then it is easier when you put the new ones in, they just slide into the clips.
Personally, to do the job totally well, I like to drop the glass down to the bottom of the door by removing the winding mechanism, then you can get the new scrapers into the clips properly.
Without the clips the scraper may just pull out too easily.
